Eric Potthast grew up playing tennis in his hometown of Fort Wayne, IN. He attended Methodist College in Fayetville, North Carolina. By his sophomore year, as a walk-on member of the team, he played as high as the number two singles position. Eventually Eric transferred to Indiana University, Bloomington. While working at the I.U. Tennis Center as a staff teaching pro he completed his bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. He also received his certification to teach Physical Education K-12. Since 1997, Eric has been a part of a wide variety of teaching and coaching experiences including parks and recreation programs, country clubs, college summer camps, and racquet clubs. Coach Potthast has been a Cardinal Ritter coach since 2010. If he doesn’t have a tennis racquet in his hand, you can usually find him spending time with his wife and three children.
