We see it on tv or when we attend a sporting event. A player goes down due to a serious injury. The stadium quiets, many in attendance pray, and the teamates kneel in groups and pray as well. The significance of that outward expression of faith can sometimes be lost to the witness. Not so for the participants. Friday toward the end of soccer practice sophomore Nico Ferri went down with a broken collarbone as a result of a collision. Before he left for the hospital his teammates gathered around him as one. Some holding hands and some holding Nico’s own hand to pray the Our Father. A week earlier senior Caleb Hernandez suffered a collapsed lung during soccer conditioning with a similar response by his teammates remembering him in their prayers and visits to the hospital. Rest assured based on the actions of these Christian Student Athletes the world is and will be a better place to live.
