The Cardinal Ritter Junior Varsity and Freshman football teams took on Indianapolis Bishop Chatard this past Saturday. The Junior Varsity team kept the score close all game with big hits and big plays on both sides. Alex Downard connected with several receivers to move the ball within striking distance but unfortunately Chatard stood strong in the red zone. Chatard prevailed winning 12 – 0 on a very hot and muggy afternoon. The freshman team traveled to Bishop Chatard on Saturday to come up short on the day. The freshman team gave up two big special team plays to put things out of reach. The Raiders stayed with the Trojans for the most part with the exceptions of the two special team punt plays. A final score of 33 – 15 proved that we will regroup and get better with every snap during practice.
