|The Cardinal Ritter Raiders come up short against the Scecina Memorial Crusaders 58-48.With a trip to Monday’s City Tournament finale on the line, both teams put it all on the court after playing an earlier game this morning. Scecina and Ritter went back and forth for the entire first half, matching basket for basket to deadlock the game at 24. However, the Raiders came out a little flat to start the third quarter and Scecina built an eleven point lead and did not look back. The Raiders did not give up, hitting a season high thirteen long balls, 4 of them in the fourth quarter alone to cut the lead to 8. The Raiders did not record a field goal after the first quarter, where the team shot 15% from the field, but close to 50% from beyond the arc.
Next up for the Raiders will be a Indiana Crossroads’ Conference matchup against the Park Tudor Panthers. The game is scheduled for Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Cardinal Ritter High School, with the Junior Varsity team to start the action at 6:00pm and the Varsity game to follow.
