|The Cardinal Ritter Raiders drop another one to the Washington Community High School Continentals by a score of 77-68.Behind some timely 3 point shooting from Robert Owens and Zach Hoereth, the Raiders were able to keep pace with the Continentals who led 23-19 at the end of the first quarter. Pat Wilburn led the home team the whole night, scoring a game high 27 points, 8 of which came in the opening quarter. The second quarter was much of the same, including back and forth action with a strong inside game behind Daniel Fesemeir and Jaleel Gilliam.Cardinal Ritter led by 2 points at the end of the first half; however, the team came out slow to start the third quarter and the Continentals built a lead behind 21 third quarter points, while the Raiders scored only 8. The George Washington lead inflated to 17 points, but the Raiders were not going to give up. Stevie Fon tried to put the team on his back, by dishing out two assists, collecting two steals and scoring 11 points in the quarter alone. The Raiders pulled within single digits, but fell short in the end to fall to the Continentals.
One of the state’s best 2A Teams, the Park Tudor Panthers, travesl to Ritter this coming Tuesday for an Indiana Crossroads Conference Matchup. The Junior Varsity team will initiate the action at 6:00pm, with the Varsity team to follow.
