Multiple Teams · 2013 State Champions Honored at State House

The captains of our 2013 State Champion football team were honored this week by Indiana State Senator Greg Taylor. Senator Taylor helped introduce a resolution honoring the Cardinal Ritter football team and their efforts. He specifically made mention of their efforts to make it back to the state championship after coming up short last season. As Senatory Taylor stated, “The Ritter Raiders put a mark on this championship winning 56 – 6.” Senator Taylor bragged on the school and its efforts to continue to put the spotlight on the student part of student athlete. He took the time to introduce Daniel Fesenmeier to the Senate during the resolution. Daniel won the Mental Attitude Award during the State Finals and just recently was honored as the 2014 Cardinal Ritter Salutatorian for his graduating class. The members of the team were thankful for the opportunity to meet several Senators who took the time to greet us before and after Senator Taylor spoke. Coach Hunt and Coach Purichia were also glad to see a couple alumni who currently work in the State House. They made their way down to visit prior to the team being introduced. A very good day. Good luck to all of our student athletes who are competing this weekend.
