Cardinal Ritter standout center and defensive lineman, Daniel Fesenmeier was honored this past weekend. He was chosen by the National Football Foundation as one of their selected scholar athletes for central Indiana. The Indianapolis Colts helped sponsor the event at their west 56th street complex and should be thanked for supporting Indiana high school student athletes. Daniel was recognized for his hard work in the classroom earning a 4.6 G.P.A. as the salutatorian for his class. His outstanding athletic ability was read and acknowledged in all three sports that he has participated in this year; football (IHSAA 2A State Champion, All City, All State, Captain, All Conference, Indianapolis Kiwanis Scholar Athlete) and IHSAA Phil Eskew Mental Attitude award winner) , golf (number one ranked golfer for CRHS) and basketball ( Indianapolis Kiwanis Scholar Athlete).
The Cardinal Ritter football staff and faculty would like to congratulate Daniel on his accomplishments. We would also like congratulate former Cardinal Ritter ball boy, Sean Boswell. He graduates from Ben Davis this year and was also recognized as a National Football Foundation recipient. While at the award ceremony focused on the scholar athletes, the courageous story of former South Putnam player Drew Christy was acknowledged. He continues to battle and pick himself up after a horrific car accident that left him finding a different path. Please keep his family in your prayers.
