The varsity baseball team rolled over Emmerich Manual HS 23-0 on Thursday at Triton Central after a 13-run rally in the first inning.
The Raiders scored in the first on an RBI double by Jake Hagan, an error, a two-run double by Kyle Matter, a groundout by Isaac Wynne, an RBI single by Anthony Ryback, an error, a wild pitch, an RBI double by Jake Hagan, an RBI single by Tommy Waites, an error, and a two-run single by Dylan Faulkenberg. Jake Hagan had two extra-base hits for the Cardinal Ritter Raiders. The team combined for 12 hits, nine RBIs and 11 runs scored.
Logan Beaman recorded the win for the Cardinal Ritter Raiders. He tossed two innings of shutout ball. He struck out five, walked none and surrendered no hits. They added eight more runs in the bottom of the third. A bases loaded walk scored Yockey for the inning’s first run. The lead increased with two runs in the fourth. The inning looked promising, as Bacon singled, bringing home Griffen Miller to kick things off. That was followed up by Johnny Seiner‘s single, scoring Matthew Bottorff.
The team will play for the sectional championship on Saturday at 1:00pm vs Triton Central. The game will be played at Triton Central.
