Multiple Teams · Freshman Take The Lead For A Bit

The freshmen Raiders continued to make the strides for improvement. Despite losing to Guerin Catholic 20-8, our young Raiders started to put the pieces together. The coaches recognized the quality team effort that they put on display.

The offensive line helped to get the ball moving on the ground. LaDarryl Woods and Mitchell Wilson fought hard to keep the chains moving all game long. Nicholas Salmon returned the opening kickoff in the second half for a score to tie the game at six. Woods took a toss to the outside and scored on a two point conversion to take the lead.

The defense also continued to show signs of improvement. Ahmad Abdur played very well at the corner position, delivering some big hits. Elie Gerth and Shawn Smith also played very well on the defensive line. Aiden Robinson also played well at the corner spot by knocking down a few passes.

All in all the freshmen have shown that they have the drive to get better. The coaches will continue to push them each practice to get better. We’re looking forward to our match-up next week with Beech Grove.
