The Cardinal Ritter Raiders emerged victorious in the opening round of The City Tournamet 88-54 against Herron on the strength of Daion Daniels, who scored 16 points.
On the heels of a 14-4 run during the first quarter, Raiders pulled ahead and eventually claimed a 47-19 lead by halftime.
Daniels shot well from the field, making 50% (4-for-8) of shots attempted all of which were three point field goals. He also was successful from the line, making 100% (4-for-4) of free throws attempted.
Four other players also scored in the double digits for Cardinal Ritter were Nate Soltis scored 15 points, Ange Gnamkey contributed 14 points and 10 rebounds, Tharran Cook had 11 points, and Miles Tracy put up 11 points. Anthony Dumes notched two three-pointers and scored eight points total. Tracy was a big defensive contributor as well, racking up 10 rebounds, two steals and one block.
The Raiders finished the game with 51 rebounds (26 offensive / 25 defensive), two blocks and 13 steals.

The teams take on the Scecina Crusaders tonight for quarter finals at Scecina High School. The JV game starts at 6 with the Varsity game following 20 minutes later.
