The Cardinal Ritter Boys Golf Team finished second in Sectional play on Friday at South Grove Golf Course firing a 328. Park Tudor got the win with a 309, but the Radiers beat Speedway for the third time this season, as they shot a 342 to come in third. Rounding out the day were Ben Davis (373), Decatur Central (400), Pike (511), Crispus Attucks (566), Northwest (697), and Covenant Christian (Incomplete). Leading the Raiders in scoring were “Big” Ben Szeszycki with an 80, Kevin Tillery with an 81, “Downtown” Austin Brown with an 83, and Aaron “Noonan” Lynch with an 84.
Regionals start this Thursday as the Raiders tee it up at 9:40 am at Country Oaks Golf Club in Montgomery, Indiana. In addition to Park Tudor and Speedway, they will be competing against the top three teams from the following Sectionals: Attica, Martinsville, Linton-Stockton, Vincennes Lincoln, and Evansville Mater Dei. Also advancing to Regional play are the top three individual scores for players not on an advancing team.
To qualify for the State Finals on June 13-14 at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel, the Raiders need to finish in the top three teams at Regionals. However, if the team is outside the top three, individual players can advance if they are in the top five scores for individuals not on an advancing team.
Good Luck Raiders! Give it your best. We are proud of you!
