Multiple Teams · Volleyball Wins First Game Of City Tourney

The Cardinal Ritter Girls Volleyball Team won their first game of the City Tournament on Monday night defeating the Arsenal Technical High School Titans in three straight sets; 25-7, 25-10 and 25-5.  With the win the team advances to the next round at Covenant Christian High School where they will take on the Warriors.

Offensively the Lady Raiders were led by Chelsea “Floater” Flora with 9 kills followed by “Spiking” Sarah Middaugh with 8.  “Going Back To” Callie Waites distributed the ball racking up 32 assists.  Jenna “Pure Athlete” Purichia led the defense with 7 digs with Maria “Ace” Adolay racking up 6.  In addition to the kills, Flora also led the team with 7 aces while Waites added 4.

The JV Team also won beating the Lady Titans.  Chloe Olejnik led the team with 7 kills and Linsey Waggoner led the team defensively with 3 digs.

The next round of the tournament begins on Tuesday with the JV game beginning at 5:30.  Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students.
