Multiple Teams · ICC Swimming; Boys Take 2nd, Girls Win It All!!!

The Boys and Girls Swimming and Diving Teams competed in the Indiana Crossroads Conference Meet on Saturday.  Congratulations to the Lady Raiders as they ended the day taking First Place in six events & setting three school records.  Junior Kamryn Blake and Sophomore Alana Frazee started the morning off by placing 1-2 in 1 meter Diving.

Once the swimming started the Lady Raiders 200 Medley Relay of Cici Koester, Riley Richards, Zoe Viglietta & Julia Sheringer placed first and set a new school record.  Sophomore Zoe Viglietta continued winning by taking first in the 200 Individual Medley & 100 Butterfly;  while Sophomore Julia Sheringer’s second place finish in the 50 Free was quick enough to set a new school record.

The relay team of Julia Sheringer, Mariah Wehrle, Megan Westrick & Natalie Odier, placed first and also set a new school record.  The icing on the cake was the 400 Freestyle Relay Team of Koester, Odier, Richards and Viglietta swimming away with a victory.

The Boys team had a strong day and finished Second.  The highlight of the meet was the first place finish of the 200 Medley Relay team of all Seniors, Lance Spreaker, Mike Isakson, Jacob Ludlow and Sam Kinnett. The momentum continued with Spreaker winning the 100 Backstroke & the new school record set by Isakson in the 100 Breaststroke.

The Swimming and Diving Teams’ next meet is Thursday, January 11th at Decatur Central.
