Boys Varsity Basketball · Raiders Basketball Swarmed By Hornets

The Cardinal Ritter Boys Basketball Team fell to Beech Grove 60-49 despite a solid performance from Joey “Gamer” Gruber with 17 points.  The Raiders took charge on offense early in the game with a big lead in the first quarter that was shortened to 24-22 at the half.  Beech Grove ultimately rallied for the victory after a long run in the fourth.

Gruber was the leading scorer going 6-11 from the floor.  “I Can See For” Miles Tracy made it to double digits scoring 13 points for the Raiders.  Also helping on the offensive end were Tharran “T-Bone” Cook with 8 points, “Nasty” Nate Soltis with 6 and Shelby “The Swift” Turner with 5.  Soltis was big on the glass pulling down 9 boards while adding 3 blocks and Turner was a defensive star with 4 steals.  The Raiders finished the game with 24 rebounds (9 offensive).

The boys take the floor again Friday at home against Triton Central.  This is the annual Nightwatch game and will also be a “Silent Night” game.  The theme for the student section is costumes so come out for some fun and cheer loud for our Raiders!!!
