Senior Bryce Giebel has decided to take his talents to the University of Indianapolis beginning in the 2017-18 school year. The two sport star decided to continue his football career with the Greyhounds and did his honorary signing Friday at Cardinal Ritter in front of his friends and family.
During Giebel’s career, he won 2 IHSAA State Championships, 1 in football and 1 in baseball during the 2016-17 school year. Giebel was a mainstay on the offensive and defensive line for the Raiders and look to give a boost to the Greyhounds where he will be joining former All-State Quarterback Jake Purichia and fellow offensive lineman, Dan McDonald.
Giebel was voted on the All-City Team as an offensive lineman this past season and was the most consistent linemen on both sides of the ball this year fro the Raiders He was second on the team in tackles with 90 total. He was a mainstay of the defensive line and regularly was double teamed yet he still had 4 tackles for a loss 2 sacks and kept quarterbacks running for their lives. On offense, he was able to avoid major injury even though he played hurt most of the year. He still was a player opposing teams had to game plan for because of his physicality, and toughness and was possibly the strongest player on the team.
