Boys Junior Varsity Basketball, Boys Varsity Basketball · Raiders Win Game Before Senior Night

The Cardinal Ritter Boys Basketball Team played a tune-up game Wednesday as they traveled to George Washington High School to take on the Providence Christo Rey Sea Wolves.  The Raiders put points on the board early, claiming a 41-22 lead at the half.  They cemented their lead in the third quarter, scoring 25 points on their way to their 80-48 final score.

Shelby “The Swift” Turner led the Raider offense going 5-6 from the field while sinking 100% of his free throws scoring 15 points total.  “I Can See For” Miles Tracy and “Nasty” Nate Soltis also scored in double figures for Cardinal Ritter scoing 14 and 10 respectively.  Joey “Gamer” Gruber (4 rebounds, 2 steals) had his first dunk shot of the year as he and “All Day” Daion Daniels (1 rebound) scored 9 points a piece.  Also contributing for the Raiders was “Finding” Nemo Jones with 8 points (2 rebounds 1 block), Brice “Bankshot” Buels with 5 (2 rebounds) and Dan”-O-Mite” Bayler with a basket and a rebound.

The Raiders were tremendous on defense as they pulled down 28 boards (23 defensive) while adding 4 blocks and 10 steals.

The JV Raiders also took home the “W” vs. Christo Rey 59-40.  Damon Oagletree led the way with 15 points on the night.

Both teams are back in action Friday to finish the regular season at home against Tri-West for senior night.  The JV game starts at 6 with Senior night festivities for the boys team and their senior manager beginning before the varsity game start.  The Swimming and Diving Team and Band will be honored at halftime.
