The Cardinal Ritter Boys Volleyball team extended their winning streak to 4, with a 3- 0 win (25-7, 25-14, 25-6) against the visitors from Lawrence North. Josh “JC” Christian led the team in kills collecting 9, followed by Tharran “T-Bone” Cook with 7, Eric Krumm with 5, while Ben “The Jet” Egenolf and Sean Bennett each had 4. Krumm continued his strong defensive presence at the net this week by collecting 4 blocks tonight, Sean Bennett added 2 blocks and Mike Isakson had 1 block. Josh Strati led the team in digs with 18, Will Roberts added 14 and Cade Merrill had 9. As a team, the Raiders serving percentage was 92% on the night – Cade Merrill was 24 for 25 with 4 aces, Matthew Walters was 12 for 14 with 1 ace and Strati was a perfect 11 for 11 from the serving line with 3 aces.
The JV volleyball team remains perfect on the season with a 2-0 win (25-4, 25-13) over the Wildcats, bringing their record to 3-0. As a team, the JV Raiders had an impressive .500 hitting percentage while spreading the kills all around the front row. Bobby Sulecki led the team with 4 kills, John Wagoner added 3, Elliot Domogalik, Patrick Keating and Bobby Isakson each had 2 kills. Ben Yetter led the defense picking up 8 digs. The team was extremely effective from the serving line as well, collecting 18 aces from six different Raiders. Andrew Harvey and Zane Middaugh each had 5 aces, Michael Koslowski had 3, Mark Adolay and Yetter each had 2 aces and Isakson added one.
Both teams are back in action this Saturday, March 24 in a tournament at Fishers High School. In the morning wave, both Raider teams will be competing at approximately 10a and 11a. Match times for the afternoon wave will be determined by the morning wave results.
