After an almost two week hiatus from the volleyball court, your Raider Volleyball team was back in action Tuesday night against the Tigers from Fishers High School. While the Raiders stayed close in set one, the Tigers were able to win in straight sets 3-0 (22-25, 17-25, 18-25). The Raiders struggled to get into the swing of things and never managed to get all pistons firing at the same time. They maintained a small lead early in set 1 and had a good run at the end of said set, but that simply wasn’t enough against #3 ranked Fishers.
Josh Strati led the back-row defense picking up 16 digs, Will “The Thrill” Roberts added 11, while Cade Merrill and Matthew Walters each added 9. At the net, Roberts had 3 blocks, Eric “Cookie” Krumm had 2 and Josh “JC” Christian had 1. Krumm led the team in kills with 6, while Christian, Tharran “T-Bone” Cook, and Sean Bennett each added 2 a-piece.
The JV Raiders also lost to Fishers 1-2 (25-24, 21-25, 8-15). Bobby Sulecki had 6 kills, Elliot Domogalik added 4 kills and Patrick Keating chipped in 3 kills. Keating had 2 blocks on the night, Bobby Isakson added one. Ben Yetter led the team in digs with 16, Zane Middaugh and Michael Koslowski each had 14 digs, Eric Diaz added 9 digs and Mark Adolay added 8.
The Varsity Team hosts Herron High School on Wednesday night in a match that starts at 6:30. Both teams play again next Tuesday (April 24) at Chatard High School, the JV starts at 6p with Varsity to follow.
