Boys Varsity Baseball · Baseball Wins Fifth

The Cardinal Ritter Baseball Team won their fifth straight game Friday night with a 14 – 7 victory against Western Boone on their Senior Night.  The Raiders gave up a run in the first but put 8 back on the board in the top of the second to ascend them to victory.  WEBO gave the Raiders a scare in the 2nd and 3rd scoring 3 run in each bottom frame but did not relinquish another run throughout while adding 1 in the 3rd and 4th and 2 in the 6th and 7th for 14 runs total on 18 hits.

Damien “Llama” Wallace started on the mound and had moments of brilliance, striking out 8 and scattering 7 hits and walking only 1.  “Juicy” Jake Allard came in for an inning of work and picked up the save.

The offense was staggering, led by Dillon “Rube” Olejnik.  Olejnik went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI.  Luke “The Laser Shearer also had a great day at the plate going 2 for 3 with a triple and an RBI.  Le’Ron “Mr. Fantastic Fleming broke out of a mini-slump going 2 for 4 with a double and 4 RBI.  Joey “Gamer” Gruber stayed hot at the plate going 3 for 5 with an RBI and Wallace had some quality ABs going 3 for 4.  Grant “G-Man” Eifert played his role perfectly, bunting players around while going 2 for 3 with an RBI.  Also adding hits on the day were Jake “The Snake” Kluemper, Henry “H-Bomb” Woodcock and Jack “Rabbit” Henninger.
