Girls Varsity Track · Girls Track Team Heads To Sectionals


The Cardinal Ritter Girls Track and Field Team competed in Sectionals on Tuesday.  They came away with 4 sectional champions.  All total there will be 6 teams/ individuals that will move onto the Regionals next week.  Mariah and Mary Anna Wehrle stayed dominant in the 1600 and 3200 meter run respectively.  The 4 X 800 team of Jenna Gruber, Hanna Wells, and the Wehrle sisters won their race as did Megan “Mid-Mark” Young who moved on to the Regionals yet again. The Girls Team finished 5th out of 13 teams in an absolutely loaded Sectional.

Mariah Wehrle– 1600 Meter Run SECTIONAL CHAMPION
Mary Anna Wehrle- 3200 Meter Run SECTIONAL CHAMPION
Megan Young– Pole Vault SECTIONAL CHAMPION

The team finished 5th out of 13 schools by scoring 70 points.  All of the Sectional Champions scored 10 points per event.  The following individuals and relays contributed to the other 30 points scored.

Danielle Metangmo Discus (4th) 5 points, Shot Put (5th) 4 points – Moves on to Regionals
Christina Troll 400 Meter Run (5th) 4 points
4×400 Relay (5th) 4 points Christina Troll, Isis Acosta, Hannah Wells, Mariah Wehrle
4×100 Relay (7th) 2 points Stephanie Molina, Mia Adams, Amiiyah Dumes, Isis Acosta
