Boys Varsity Baseball · Baseball Season Comes To An End

The Cardinal Ritter Baseball Team’s season came to an end this weekend as they lost in the Sectionals 2-1 to eventual winner Tri-West.  The Raiders played great defense behind the great pitching of Luke “The Laser” Shearer who took his first and only loss of the year on the mound.  He held the high powered Bruins offense that averaged 7 runs a game to just two runs on just 7 hits while striking out 5 while earning another complete game.

The offense also had 7 scattered hits, but could not push runners through leaving 10 men on base.  The were led by Kyle “Kay Pee-Zee” Price who was 1 for 2 on the day with a double while walking once.  Jake “The Snake” Kluemper had a single in the first inning.  Henry “H-Bomb” Woodcock hit an absolute rocket for a single as did Jack “Rabbit” Henninger, Le’Ron “Mr. Fantastic” Fleming, Damien ” Llama” Wallace and Shearer.

The Raiders had a great season finishing with a 19-8 record while being ranked for a good portion of the season making it all the way up to a #4 Ranking in both the IHSBCA Poll and the MaxPreps Poll.

Seniors Shearer, Kluemper, Price, Woodcock, Dillon “Rube” Olejnik, “Juicy” Jake Allard and Gus “Bus” Esterline will be missed but their mark on the Raider baseball program will last forever.

Thank you to all of the players, parents and fans that have supported these young men throughout the season and their careers!!

Great season Raiders!!! MVI_1298
