The Indiana Crossroads Conference announced their 2018 All-ICC Team for this season. The Lady Raiders were 14-10 overall this year with a 4-2 record in ICC play. Their successes found 3 players named to this years team. The members were Jenna “Pure Athlete” Purichia, Taylor “The Falcon” Faulkenberg and Annie “The Natural” Kluemper.
Purichia was a mainstay at shortstop this year and made some great defensive plays all year, flashing her glove and showcasing her cannon for an arm. Offensively, she led the Raiders in batting average hitting .488 for the season. She also led the team in doubles with 10 and was second on the team with 24 RBI and 2 HR all from the 2 spot in the line-up. This was the 3rd time in 4 years Purichia has earned this honor.
Faulkenberg was the Lady Raiders ace this year amassing 12 wins this year while throwing 105.1 innings this year. When she was on she was one of the best in the state striking out 134 and having a team low 3.32 ERA. Offensively, she was arguably the most feared player in the line-up batting clean-up for the year. She ended the year batting .478 with a team high 32 RBI while coming in second in doubles with 8 and HR with 2.
Kluemper is another slick fielding Lady Raider who can play multiple spots on the field. But she has earned her nickname with her sweet swing that earned her a .463 avg and .494 OBP in the lead-off spot. She also had a team high 25 stolen bases showcasing her blazing speed.
Congrats Lady Raiders!!!
