Boys Varsity Baseball · Olejnik To Compete In North South All-Star Game

The Mid-Summer Classic is about to take place in Washington DC on July 11th when the best Major League baseball players in the world will be matched up in the greatest exhibition game in the country.  The weekend after the best players in the state of Indiana will go head to head in the IHSBCA North-South All-Star Game.  This year the game will take place in South Bend at Four Winds Field, home of the South Bend Cubs.

The process to be nominated and selected is a trying one to say the least, but this year the Cardinal Ritter Raiders were blessed with the opportunity to have another member selected in Dillon “Rube” Olejnik.  Dillon has been the starting catcher for three years for the Raiders and has seen a dramatic improvement in his skills every year.  This year was his best year yet as he batted .488 while playing every inning behind the dish.  Olejnik made a push at the batting average, doubles and triples records at Cardinal Ritter with 12 doubles and 3 triples respectively.

The All-Star Series will take place July 20th-22nd and is a special experience for all selected.  Friday the players meet, practice and conclude with a banquet.  Saturday the play begins as their are 2, 9 inning games.  Sunday the third game concludes the series as all players wear their high school uniforms.  Come out and support Dillon in this momentous occasion!

Olejnik’s play has also earned him the opportunity to play baseball next year at Marian University.

Great Job Dillon!!!
