Boys Junior Varsity Football · JV Football Travels To Lutheran

Saturday was a cloudless, bright day for your Cardinal Ritter JV football team when they traveled to Lutheran High School to face the Saints.   The Raiders battled hard but ultimately fell to Lutheran.

The Saints won the toss and elected to receive the ball. Your Raiders bent, but did not break, as the Saints to drive to the Raider 40, before being stopped on a 4th and 8!  A composed Nate Cmehil led the JV Offense at QB, with Mitchel Andrews providing solid QB backup. Rylan Slay and Ben Yetter tag-teamed the run game and forcefully ran the football all day long.  Ellie Gerth and Jadyen Brock were poised leaders on the Offensive and Defensive side of the ball throughout the game.

the second half started with Gabe Castenada recovering the second half onside-kick attempt and the Raiders started 1st and 10 at the Saints 38 yard line.   The Raiders scored on a 28 yard TD pass from Cmehil to Jordan Johnson. The 2 point conversion was a pass from Cmehil to Chris Knutson.

Your JV Raiders did not get the “W” Saturday, but the entire team worked hard for 4 quarters.  Their next contest will be at home, Monday, August 27th at 6pm to face Brebuef.
