The Raiders JV Football Team took the spark out of the Plugs on Tuesday night with a 36-6 victory. Nate Cmehil (QB) took the reigns of the offense by using his feet early on to put the Raiders in the end zone. Cmehil also took his talents to the air by completing several passes to freshman Will Tune, sophomore Jordan Johnson and freshman Nate Sims.
The ground attack was led by Austin Sultzer. Sultzer and the offensive line brought some thunder to the 30th and Tibbs location on a very humid but clear evening. Their aggressive steps led to a touchdown with a run through or run you over attitude. Sultzer also was a highlight on defense as he led the defense in tackling on the night.
Ben Yetter also jumped into the mix by returning a punt to the Sparkplug 14 yard line early in the game. He also stepped up on defense defending several passes. David Lowery saw his first action of the season by outrunning several defenders in the running game. The JV squads stepped up their game and helped the Raiders start the week in the correct column.
The Raider Nation hopes to see everyone make it out for the varsity game this Friday at Speedway.
