Multiple Teams · Girls Volleyball Heads To Zionsville

The Cardinal Ritter Varsity Volleyball Team lost to Heritage Christian in four sets this Thursday night. The Raiders came out strong in the first set defeating the Eagles 25-20. However, the Eagles bounced back winning the next three sets 21-25, 15-25, 21-25.   The Lady Raiders fought hard throughout and showed a lot of life as they never gave up and rallied around each other.

Offensively, the Raiders were led by Grace Armbruster with 14 kills while MariClaire Warnock added 6. At the net, Chloe Olejnik had 3 blocks for the Raiders. From the back row the Raiders were led by Linsey “Say Hey” Waggoner with 21 digs and Grace Hartman who added 15. Both setters distributed the ball effectively among the hitters. Megan Van Gheem had 18 assists and Warnock added 16 assists for the Raiders.

The JV Team also lost to Heritage Christian 19-25 and 24-25. Emma McKee lead the team with 9 digs and Mackenzi Gregoraski led the team with 5 kills.

After the loss the team regrouped and competed in the Zionsville invite this past weekend. The Raiders went 1-2 on the weekend defeating West Lafayette but losing to Cathedral and Zionsville.

Warnock led the Raiders in assists this weekend with 26. Offensively, the Raiders were led by Armbruster with 11 kills while Christina Troll and Kelsey Waggoner each had 9. Defensively the Raiders were lead by “Say Hey” Waggoner with 20 digs while Warnock added 14.

All three volleyball teams are back in action on Tuesday at home to take on Indiana Crossroads Conference foe, Scecina. The Freshmen Game will start at 5 with the other 2 games following.
