The cool and overcast night did not dampen the Raider spirit as they traveled to Eastern Hancock to play the JV football game against the Royals. The Raiders won the toss and elected to receive, but were stymied on their first possession. The Royals were stopped cold by the Raider defense when Austin Seltzer blitzed and caused a fumble, which he then recovered.
The Raider Offense was hitting on all cylinders with Nate Cmehil at the wheel. Cmehil’s first play was a short pass to Jordan Johnson and Johnson sprinted 55 yards for the TD. The Raider Defense thwarted the Royals Offense, enabling the Raider Offense to have a big lead at the half with TDs by Seltzer, Johnson (second TD) and Nate Sims.
The second half was all Raiders, with TDs by Cmehil and Kemari Robinson (plus Kemari converted the 2pt conversion). The final score was Raiders 44, Royals 18.
Please come out Monday, September 17th when the JV take on Triton Central at Triton Central.
