Boys Junior Varsity Soccer, Boys Varsity Soccer · #5 Soccer Stays Undefeated In ICC Play

The Cardinal Ritter Boys Soccer Teams traveled to Park Tudor on Thursday to take on the Panthers in an Indiana Crossroads Conference match up.  JV took the field first and struggled in the early stages of the game. About 20 minutes in, the Raiders conceded a goal and found themselves down 1-0. However, Eli Pickett refused to go into half time behind, and pulled his team out front with 2 goals in the final 10 minutes of the half, on passes from Edgar Gomez and Anthony Bonilla.

Cardinal Ritter got off to a quick start in the second half when Hernan Manzanares was able to put away the third goal of the night on a pass from Octavio Hernandez to go up by 2 goals. Park Tudor would continue to fight though, and were able to bring the game back to within 1 with 15 minutes to go. The Raiders refused to back down and sealed the win on a late goal from Hernandez to make it 4-2.
The Varsity team took the field next and looked to continue their unbeaten streak in conference play. Andy “Bend It Like” Bonilla was able to get a quick strike on goal just 2 minutes into the game on a pass from Aaron “Hollywood” Hofer. The Panthers responded just a few minutes later to even the game at 1. The game remained deadlocked, until with 10 minutes to go in the half when Bonilla recorded his second goal of the night to give the Raiders a 2-1 lead. The scoring wasn’t done for the half though as Jose Chavez knocked in his first goal the night for a 3-1 lead.
Cardinal Ritter was able to slow the game down and out-posses Park Tudor in the second half. To close the game out, Chris Murray scored the final goal of the match as Aaron Hofer recorded his third assist. The Raiders would go on to win 4-1 to stay undefeated in conference play.
