Girls Varsity Volleyball · Christina Troll Wins Scholarship

At Tuesday night’s 2018 Fall Awards Ceremony, Christina Troll was honored with the 2018-2019 Destination Athlete Complete Athlete Award.  The award was presented by John DeFabis 1983 Cardinal Ritter graduate.

Troll was named as the most deserving high school athlete in Marion County for the 2018-19 school year.  Destination Athlete, bases this award on what they consider the 4 pillars of excellence which are Athletics, Academics, Leadership and Character giving the name, The Complete Athlete, to the award.

Christina won over several nominees throughout all of Marion County.  The award comes with a small scholarship that will help at her upcoming college.

Trolls qualifications for each pillar are as follows:

Athletics- She played basketball, varsity volleyball, and is a gifted runner on the Cardinal Ritter Track and Field Team.

Academics- She currently takes the most rigorous classes offered at Cardinal Ritter and is ranked 2nd in her class.  She was named a Rising Star of  Indiana her junior year and has been named Student of the Month and Student of the Year in many of her classes throughout her 4 years.  She has earned the Scholar Athlete Award for 2 years and has also earned ICC Academic All-Conference accolades in both volleyball and track and field.

Leadership- She has been a Campus Ministry Retreat Leader, Spacish Honors Society Treasurer, and she serves a Captain of the Raiders Track and Field Team.

Character- She has received the Mental Attitude Award in Track and Field, has volunteered in many capacities in and outside of school, most notably for St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry and Wheeler Mission.
