After the dust settled, the Lady Raiders went 1-1 over break, losing to the Rebels and regrouping to beat the Lady Saints. The Lady Raiders were short staffed Wednesday but got a couple of girls back from injury to head into their second Indiana Crossroads Conference game of the year.
On Saturday, The Lady Raiders led from the beginning, winning every quarter, finishing with a score of 57-42. Linsey “Say Hey” Waggoner got hot in the second quarter knocking down 4 three pointers. Waggoner finished with a team high 15 points on the day. Emma “Lights Out” Litzelman was also in double figures with 10 points. Chloe “Wrecking Ball” Olejnik and Gabby “Heat Check” Hicks each led the way with 6 rebounds.
A noon tip Saturday for your JV Lady Raiders resulted in a tough loss. In a tight game throughout, the Raiders took a 6 point lead into the 4th quarter. But fatigue and injury slowed down the squad. In a 28-23 loss, freshman Liv Webb scored 12 and Megan McCall added 5.
The varsity win on Saturday moves the Lady Raiders to 2-0 in the ICC and will be at home against another conference foe, Monrovia, this Tuesday night at home.
