The Cardinal Ritter Raiders Varsity Basketball Team defeated Monrovia 63-52 behind a career high 25 points and 11 rebounds from Damon “Old Oak” Oagletree, Jr. The Raiders and Bulldogs went back and forth in the first 3 quarters with several lead changes and ties, before the Raiders started to pull away. Dan “O-Mite” Bayler finished with 13, and Joey “Gamer” Gruber was every where on the court finishing with 10 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assist and 4 steals.
Senior “Nasty” Nate Soltis Reached 1,000 career points with a free throw in the 4th quarter to make him one of only 3 Raiders to reach this achievement.
At halftime, the Raiders honored Jenna “Pure Athlete” Purichia as she was entered into the Cardinal Ritter Wall of Fame.
The win moved the Raiders to 3-0 in conference play.
The JV Raiders battled back from a slow start to beat the bulldogs 62-31. “The” LJ Woods led the Raiders with 14, Rodney Adams added 11, and Greg Merriweather was big off the bench finishing with 9 points and several rebounds.
