Multiple Teams · Jenna Purichia Goes On Wall Of Fame

This past Friday at halftime of the Boys Basketball Game against Monrovia, the Cardinal Ritter Family recognized a Raider legend in Jenna “Pure Athlete” Purichia.  During Jenna’s time here at Cardinal Ritter High School, she was able to accomplish many goals in the classroom, in the community and of course in athletics.  For her elite performance in sports, she was entered onto the Cardinal Ritter Wall of Fame.

Jenna is the 35th Raider alumnus and 6th member of her family to be given this prestigious honor in Cardinal Ritter’s 55 year history.   She is joined on the wall by her brothers Jake, class of 2013, and Nick Purichia, class of 2006, her aunts, Katie Murphy Waggoner, class of 1992, Mary “Muffy” Murphy-Price, class of 1988 and father Vince Purichia, class of 1987.

Jenna will go down as one of the greatest athletes in Cardinal Ritter history.  Her honors include 2018 Indianapolis Female City Athlete of the Year, 2018 MCCGSA City Female Scholar Athlete of the Year, 2018 North-South All-Star Softball Team.

She excelled at 3 different sports and during her tenure at Cardinal Ritter her leadership and athletic ability helped the Raiders win 3 Sectionals and 4 Indiana Crossroads Conference Titles.

Jenna was and is never about individual accolades, but she sets high goals and making it to the Cardinal Ritter Wall of Fame was something she aimed to accomplish.  What separates Jenna from others that have esteemed athletic talent like her is her drive and work ethic.  In high school Jenna would get up in the morning and run and workout, then go to class, go to multiple sport practices/ games and find another time to work out during the day, either in weight lifting class or on her own.

Her individual achievements in each sport are vast including:

 In Basketball-

2018 ICGSA All-State Team

2018 MCCGSA All-City

2017 and 2018 ICC All-Conference

2017 and 2018 ICC All Academic

In Softball-

And she holds the school record for most assists in a season.

Jenna is currently attending DePauw University and has made an impact immediately on the volleyball court as she was named All-NCAC Honors in just her first year of collegiate play.

Congratulations Jenna!!!
