The Cardinal Ritter Boys Basketball Team had two members on their squad named to the Indiana Crossroads Conference All-Conference Team. Out of the tough competition, “Nasty” Nate Soltis and Dan “O-Mite” Bayler were elected by the ICC coaches for their play throughout the season.
Bayler led the team in assists and finished the season breaking the school record for assists in a season. His play improved so much throughout the season that he became one of the best facilitators in the state helping the Raiders average 70.5 points a season which ranked them 11th in the State and was the highest scoring average in Cardinal Ritter History. His decision making helped 5 players (including himself) average double figures in scoring for the season.
As one opposing ICC coach stated, “Soltis is a match-up nightmare. We were worried about him, game planned around him and he still dominated.” Soltis has been a standout since he stepped foot at Cardinal Ritter. An injury early in his career derailed part of his freshman season, but that did not stop his progression at all. The IU East commit enjoyed a tremendous senior year which saw the Raiders collect 16 wins, the most in school history. His defensive play and highlight reel dunks energized the Raider Nation and his teammates and helped them excel.
Great job on this esteemed achievement gentlemen!
