Girls Varsity Tennis · Lady Raiders Tennis Beats Heritage Christian

Mother Nature served up a doozy of a day Wednesday with some warm sun and fierce wind that had all the players scrambling to make adjustments. The Lady Raiders fought hard and focused on their wind strategies and tactics and came out on top.

Junior Mackenzie Grzegorzewski was the last match to finish and the Congrats to her for pulling out a W with everyone watching.  Coach Rubey said Wednesday was, “the windiest day I have ever experienced at Riverside Park and a formidable opponent.”
Congrats also to Freshman standout Lindsay Norton on her first varsity match. While her score doesn’t reflect it, she played very well and we are excited to see what’s to come this season from her.
Senior and number 1 singles player MariClaire Warnock led the team with the first win of the day. 2 doubles then rallied from a set down to take the match to a 3rd set breaker which they won as well. Congrats to Lauren VanMeigham and Annie Waters for their win today. Olivia Houston and Lucy Fultz continue to improve at 1 doubles though they fell short today.
In JV action, Senior Amara Allen and Freshman Eden Crapo teamed up again and brought in their first W. Congrats!
