The Raider Golfers competed in the Indianapolis City Championship on Thursday at South Grove. The heavy morning fog lifted in time for the 9:00 am shotgun start, and the rain held off for the first few holes. But the rain did not stop the Raiders from scoring their best team round of the season.
The team recorded a 358, good enough for 5th place. Once again Kevin “Tap In ” Tillery led the Raider scoring effort with a 3-over par 73, which qualified him for All City honors and a fourth place overall finish. Helping the team scoring effort was Reed “The Terrapin” Turpen with a season best 84, John “Waggle” Wagoner with his season best 98, and Austin “Gimme Some” Mohr with 103.
After a packed week of matches, the Raiders get a few days off before meeting up with Lawrence North on Tuesday at Coffin.
