The Raider Linksters traveled to Angola, IN Saturday to play in the Angola Invitational at Glendarin Hills Golf Club. It was a cold and windy day, making an already challenging course that much more difficult for all 17 teams playing. The Raiders finished in 12th place with a score of 418. Several parents made the trek to Angola to watch our boys compete, and witness the challenges this course offers the players. Even the turkeys that came out of the woods on the third hole know how difficult this course can play.
Kevin “Tap In” Tillery led the scoring effort for the Raiders with an 84, which put him in a 3-way tie for 10th place overall. The tie-breaker hole was the 575-yard par 5 18th, which he bogied. But that was good enough to beat the other two players. Only seven strokes separated the top ten golfers on the day; a good testament to how difficult this course played.
