Girls Junior Varsity Volleyball, Girls Varsity Volleyball · Volleyball Laps Speedway


The Cardinal Ritter Varsity Volleyball Team defeated Speedway in four sets last night. Speedway came out strong in set 1 winning 17-25. However, the Raiders bounced back in set two and set three winning 25-17 and 25-18. The fourth set was a quite the battle with each team fighting hard for every point. The Raiders eventually came away with the win 31-29.

The Raider offense was run by setters Alexis Priesthoff and Megan “Volley” Van Gheem with 21 and 17 assists respectively. Van Gheem also added 3 aces for the Raiders while Amy Price had 2 aces. Offensively Kelsey “Wild Card” Waggoner has 12 kills and Morgan Schabel added 8 kills.   Van Gheem lead the team on digs with 12 while Kelsey and Linsey “Scoop” Waggoner had 10 and 8 digs respectively. The Raiders finished the night with 5 blocks, 3 from Chloe “Ole… Ole, Ole,” Olejnik and 2 from “Raking” Riley Heim.

The JV Raiders also won last night sweeping the plugs in two sets.  Mallory Grzegorzewski lead the team from the service line with 5 aces.  Defensively Emma McKee lead the Raiders with 6 digs. Lindsay Norton had 7 kills for the Raiders last night.
