Boys Varsity Cross Country, Girls Varsity Cross Country · Cross Country Teams Sweep ICC; Second Year In A Row

It was another great day for Cardinal Ritter Cross Country Teams at the Indiana Crossroads Conference meet in Shelbyville sweeping both the races going 1-2-3-5 in the girls and 1-2-4-9 in the boys race.  It was the 2nd consecutive championship for the boys and 4th straight for the girls.

The boys race was easily won by over 50 points as Paul “Streaker Stamm and Wil “Stride” Stamm pulled away from the pack and never looked back with Wil winning his first cross country individual championship.  We had four All-Conference runners, Wil (1st) & Paul (2nd) Stamm, Eli Bush (4th), and Peter Sperry (9th).  Freshman Owen Sulecki continued his strong running placing 15th and his freshman buddy Aaron Anderson placing 21st.

The girls race was very similar as our top four girls pulled away early and never looked back.  Like Wil, Mariah “MHR” Wehrle won her first cross country individual championship.  The girls also had four All-Conference runners, and all placed in the top 5, Mariah (1st) & “Marathon” Mary Anna Wehrle (2nd), Jenna “Get Up And Go” Gruber (3rd), and Hannah “Kick” Wells (4th).  Rounding out the scoring was Sophomore Sarah Jacob 22nd.
