Last Friday the Lady Raiders played in what the Indy Star has called the toughest girls golf sectional in the state. The Raiders were competing against #4 Westfield, #5 Carmel, and #15 Guerin Catholic, which were the three advancing teams to Regionals.
Not to be intimidated by the competition, the Lady Raiders all had their best rounds of the season, resulting in the best team score of the season at 393. Leading the Raider scoring, and advancing to Regionals, was Lydia Schembre with an 81. She is the First Lady Raider to advance in seven seasons.
Following Schembre were Megan McCall “Me Maybe” with a 94, and Emily Lanie and Ella Kappel both with 109.
Lydia tees off at Regionals this Saturday at 8:40 am at Smock Golf Club in Greenwood.
