Indiana basketball is now fully upon us. The girls teams around the state started up a couple of weeks ago and now the boys seasons have begun. The Cardinal Ritter Raiders Opened up the 2019-20 season as they traveled to Breubuf Jesuit High School with a rabid Raider crowd that led to a deafening gym throughout the night. Our Raiders played hard, but unfortunately came away with a 47-69 loss to the Braves.
The Raiders fell behind early trailing the Braves 21-7 at the end of the first quarter, and struggled to find an offensive rhythm all night. Zion Williams led the Raiders with 17 points, and Damon “Old Oak” Ogletree finished with a double double of 11 points and 11 rebounds.
The JV Raiders fell behind early to the Braves, but used their pressure defense to keep the game within reach. In the end the Braves wee able to connect at the free throw line to beat The Raiders 45-48. Freshmen Josh Adams, Mikail (sp) Miller, and Sophomore Donovan Royston’s pressure defense led the Raiders comeback attempt.
The Raiders are back in action this weekend when we host Indy Met on Friday, December 6th. JV will tip at 6pm, and Varsity will follow are 730.
Come out and support the Raiders!
