The Lady Raiders Basketball Team traveled to Monrovia on Tuesday night for an Indiana Crossroads Conference match-up. Cardinal Ritter struggled to put the ball in the basket for much of the first quarter scoring a total of 7 points. The second quarter was more of the same with no player scoring more than three points and finishing the first half with a 19-17 lead.
The second half was a much different story as Emma “Lights Out” Litzelman (8 points in the quarter) and teammates started to find their range. The team defense was better in the second half as well as the Lady Raiders held Monrovia to 11 total second half points. Elena “The Closer” Closser continued to lead the Raiders with very good point guard play . With the defense being the second half key, the girls were able to chalk up another ICC win to go to 3-0 in conference play with a 51-29 win. Litzelman was the only scorer in double digits as she finished with 15 points.
The Raiders are home on Saturday as they take on Shenandoah for a noon JV tip and 1:30 Varsity tip.
