Two Cardinal Ritter Cross-Country and Track standouts, Mariah “MHR” Wehrle and “Marathon” Mary Anna Wehrle inked their name to run cross-country in college next year. Their much deserved official Raider signing took place Wednesday afternoon to a packed crowd, anxious to see these twin stars decide where they will take the next chapter of their lives. After contemplating several Division 1 offers they made their final decisions in front of the Raider Nation.
The accolades that these two have earned during the 3 and a half years are too long to list but the major highlight was this past cross country season. The two were instrumental in pushing the Lady Raiders into the school’s first ever team IHSAA Cross Country State Championship qualifier. This was an exciting, monumental achievement that puts the team and them individually in the conversation of Cardinal Ritter Legends based on their leadership and determination.
Mariah (who also swims in the winter) has decided to stay in state and run at Indiana University for the Hoosiers while Mary Anna has decided to take her talents to West Point. One thing is for certain, it will be exciting watching these two take the leap into high level athletics and flourish.
Congrats to both of these two amazing young ladies!!!
The Raider Nation is proud of you both!!!
