Boys Varsity Golf · Hayden Grider: Spring Sports Senior Showcase

Hayden “Grinder” Grider is a two sport athlete that is our next Raider featured in our Spring Sports Senior Showcase.  Hayden has been a important piece of the Cardinal Ritter Soccer Team’s success and has won multiple individual awards for the past couple years as a goalie.  This year he decided to take his work ethic and attention to detail to the sport of golf.  There is no doubt that if Hayden applied his mindset to golf this year that he would have made a significant impact early in the season for the team.

Coach Jones said of Hayden, “Following in his sister’s footsteps, Hayden decided to come out for the golf team during his senior year. However, unlike his sister, we will not find out if he was going to be a regular top 5 or 6 player for the team. Being the superstar goal keeper from the CRHS soccer team, he did have a few conflicts that may have interfered with a few of our matches.”

Hayden looks to continue playing at the next level which Coach Jones explained, “He was still playing for a club team to help him stay in shape for his future collegiate soccer playing plans. But for those times when I believe he would have been on the course with us, I think he would have been a proud representative for the Grider family golfing tradition.”

A little more about Hayden
Hayden plans to attend Indiana University next year and major in architecture.
His most memorable Cardinal Ritter experiences were all the times hitting the links with the team.
He will miss the fact that he will not being able to play the golf season with the boys.
Hayden added, “I would like to thank my mom and dad for letting me play golf along with soccer,  All my friends that I have stayed connected with online, and finally, Coach Jones and KT for teaching me how to play a sport I’ve come to enjoy playing.”
Thanks Hayden!
