The next senior we are showcasing is Leslie Gonzalez. Leslie joined the track and field team as a sophomore in 2018. Leslie enjoyed running in practice and was willing to run any event coaches would put her in for the meets. She always gave maximum effort in practice. Leslie was a great teammate during practices, encouraging her teammates to finish workouts. She was also a great teammate during meets, always cheering on her teammates in all of their events. Leslie set new Personal Records in the 100 Meter Dash and the 200 Meter Dash as a Sophomore and a Junior.
Coach Ballou said of her, “Leslie was always there to cheer and encourage her teammates.” He added, “Leslie was always prepared to run whenever and wherever her coaches needed her to run”
Here is a little more about Leslie:
Leslie’s parents are Gisela Mendez and Javier Gonzalez
She plans to attend Ivy Tech Community College and become a midwife.
Her most memorable Cardinal Ritter experiences were joining Danza with her friends and she explained that going to practices were always fun and worth going to.
What she will miss most is going to practice with her best friend and seeing her friends
Leslie said she would like to thank, “Dr. Cruz who is always checking up on everyone and making sure she does everything she can possibly do to make school easier and fun. Thanks to Mrs. Finke and Mr. Bowker for helping me with my work, or at least trying to. Mr. Bowker admits to not being so good at math and to Mr. Cavanaugh for his jokes he would make during AA.
Thank you Leslie!!
