Boys Varsity Track, Girls Varsity Track · Sam Hood: Spring Sports Senior Showcase

We follow up John Cooper with his sidekick Sam Hood.  Sam has shown tremendous growth in track and field and has worked on the track and in the weight room to improve every year.  Sam is a great teammate and always is there to help his team and as a pole vaulter, he helped push his teammates to always do better.

Coach Ballou said of him, “Sam joined the track and Field team as a Junior in which he was a varsity award winner.  He practiced everyday with purpose.  Learning pole vault can be a very challenging event.  It made it easy that his friend John Cooper was there to encourage and work with him everyday.  Sam was on track to have a great senior season, he put in a lot of work in the weight room to get stronger and faster.  It would have been awesome to see the jump Sam would have made from his junior to senior year.  Sam said that his favorite track and field moment was competing in his very first meet.  Sam plans on attending Vincennes University to major in Automotive Technology.

“Sam was prepared to have a great senior season due to the hard work that he put into the off season”
