On Wednesday, December 23rd, the Lady Raiders traveled to Danville to take on the Warriors in a pre-Christmas eve nail biter. Cardinal Ritter went into the game knowing they were going to have to play hard, as Danville is always tough competition. The first quarter proved to be eventful, with both teams playing hard and a high level of energy in the crowd. The Warriors managed to outscore the Lady Raiders in both the first and second quarters, putting Cardinal Ritter down 24-19 at halftime. The third quarter saw the Raiders make a comeback with big baskets by many players, such as a couple three pointers from McCall, to tie the game up going into the final quarter of the game.

The Lady Warriors began pulling ahead in the 4th quarter, but the CRHS was not giving up that easily.   Litzelman hit some clutch free throws to put the raiders up by 4 going into the final minute of the game. After a three pointer by Danville making it a one point game with one second left on the clock, the audience was on the edge of their seats.  The Lady Raiders were able to stall the final second and win the game 48-47, the first time the raiders have beat the warriors in years.

Litzleman had another high scoring game with 23 points while also adding a team high 7 rebounds. Waggoner contributed a respectable 14 points and multiple offensive and defensive rebounds racking up 6. Lauren Beaman also contributed defensively both on the boards and with many deflections and steals gathering 3 boards and 2 steals to along with her 2 assists to the lead the Lady Raiders to their victory.  McCall finished with 6 points, Gruber had 3 and Heim rounded out the scoring with 2.

The team will take a couple weeks off and will be back in action against Beech Grove on Thursday, January 7th.
