After a two week holiday hiatus, the Lady Raiders Basketball Team hosted the Beech Grove hornets at home in an Indiana Crossroads Conference match-up. Both teams struggled to put points on the board in the first half, causing the score to result in a 17-17 tie at halftime. Finally, Cardinal Ritter seemed to get their spring back in their step and upped their defensive game in the third quarter. However, the Raiders were only leading 34-30 going into the final quarter of the game. They managed to find the basket more in the fourth quarter and held the Hornets to only 4 points for a final score of 43-34 in favor of the Lady Raiders, whose record now moves to 10-4.
Junior Kelsey “Wild Card” Waggoner led the raiders in scoring with 19 points, most of which were rebound put backs as she also dominated on the boards with 9 total. Emma “Lights Out” Litzleman also had another impressive scoring night with 16 points to go along with 4 assists and 4 steals and Olivia “Wu-Tang” Webb hit a few clutch shots down the line (6 points total) to seal the win.
