On Tuesday night, the Cardinal Ritter Boys Volleyball team opened their home matches for the season with a double header against Avon and Ben Davis. The Raiders got off to a slow start against Avon and found themselves behind early in the game until sophomore Owen Sulecki stepped up to the service line and served 12 straight points to put the Raiders back in the lead. The Raiders ended up winning in straight sets (25-13, 25-11). Owen Sulecki and Farai Mukona both had 2 service aces, Patrick VanGheem had 18 assists, and Dylan Poore had 8 kills to help the Raiders to victory. In the second match of the night against Ben Davis, Cardinal Ritter took the lead early and never let go. Many of the newer players to the program made their first appearance in this eventual win over the Giants. Again, the Raiders won in straight sets (25-18, 25-13, 25-15). Notable performances were by Carson Vrabel with 10 kills, Mark Adolay with 2 service aces, Ben Yetter with 6 digs, and Lucas Valle with 10 assists.
The Raiders are back home again on Thursday night as they face off against the Herron Archaeans at 7pm.
